Thomas Savery
Thomas Savery was the one to come up with the idea of the steam engine. However he could not perfect it as there was too many problems with it, such as its low effency and and itss constant overheating. -
Thomas Newcomen
Newcomen improved Savery's idea by adding in the roocking arm, which helped imporve the steam engine, but it was still not enough. Newcomen still used condensation to create a partial vacuum, and atmospheric pressure to push the mine water into the partial vacuum, but he added a piston and rocking arm. -
The Seed Drill
The seed drill was invented by Jethro Tull. This was a critical point of the agricultural revolution which freed labour from the fields and lowered crop prices. -

invented by John Kay - an improvement to looms that enabled weavers to weave faster. -

The Siemens brothers improve steelmaking by developing the open hearth furnace. -

A chemist named Louis Pasteur believed that germs caused disease. Using this information, he created vaccines that helped prevent many common diseases, which helped people live longer. -

This introduced the rule that a person may only work a maximum of 56 hours per working week. !0 hours each day (Mon-Fri) 6 hours on Saturday. -

He was an Amrican inventor, who created the first Ford Model T. He revolutionized the manufcturing of automobiles. -

1964 saw the Civil Rights Act pass which outlawed racial discrimination.
