The story is about Greaser adn Soc.Ponyboy did the main character in the story. -
On the road
Through memories from Ponyboy，he introduced his family and his friends. Ponyboy explains the biggest different between Soc’s and Greaser’s groups is the gap in wealth between them. -
On the road2
Ponyboy followed the tracks by Soc’s ,they drove out and this provoked Ponyboy on the way. Ponyboy was scared by those kids from the Soc’s gang. Finally, Soc’s held him down; they beat him and a blade was held up to his throat. Then Darry and Soda came there and comforted him for he was sad and scared. (In conclusion, in this case, it paves the way for the rivalry between Soc’s and Greaser’s . ) -
The beginning of story
Ponyboy recalled the beginning of his story which was happened in many years ago when they were leaving the cinema . (The part which Ponyboy recalls connects the ending of story.) -
First met Cherry in cinema
Dally , Ponyboy and Johnny hang out together, then they went to the cinema for movie. Then they met two girls and one of them called Cherry. And Dally would like to chase Cherry, but Cherry do not like Dally and even splash coke on Dally’ s face. But Dally didn’t stop , then Johnny stopped his action. -
First met Cherry in cinema2
Following girls are interested in Ponyboy and Johnny and invite them to sit together.(I think this part is important because this part show that Cherry think Johnny is a good boy but when Johnny killed Bob Cherry can not forgive Johnny . And this will pave below for the big fight between two groups.) -
Way to buy popcorn
When cherry and Ponyboy went to buy popcorn, Ponyboy told Cherry about how Johnny was tormented by Soc's. And after that Johnny started to bring a six inch switch blade with him to protect himself.(This part is important because it tell us why Johnny bring a knife with him and explain why Johnny kill bob later.) -
First met Bob
When Two-bit Jonny and Ponyboy sent Cherry and Marcia home , they met Cherry and Marcia's boy friend one of them called Bob who wearied three rings and might be a person who hit Johnny before. And they almost have a fight with Two-bit .At last Cherry go with them and stop the fight.But she told Ponyboy that she might love Dally.(This part is important because it show the important character Bob and also clear the relationship between Dally and Cherry.) -
Leave the home
When Ponyboy went back he lye down and talked with Johnny about themselves but he fall in asleep.When Johnny waked him up he found it was late . When he went home he found that Darry was really angry and yelled at him, but when Soda-pop helped Ponyboy, Darry yelled to him too.And Ponyboy yelled back for Soda-Pop then Darry hit him. After that he run out and found Johnny.(Is part is important because this is the most effective thing in all book if he didn't went out, they won't met Bob won't die) -
Bob's die
When they went to the park but Ponyboy and Johnny was jumped by Bob and other Soc’s. They hit Ponyboy and Johnny and even putted Ponyboy’s head into the fountain. And Johnny didn’t Ponyboy to be bullied he found his knife and killed Bob. After they killed Bob they went to found Dally. And Dally let them got to a train to leaved for a while.(This is the one of the most exciting event in the book and it decided character’s life. ) -
Went to church
Ponyboy and Johnny hided in a small church. -
An accident
One day Dally came to picked them up to hang out, but when they were caming back to the church , they found another church was on firing. They went into the firing church to sasved children's life and they saved a few children's life. But they all got injured especially Johnny and they went into hospital.（I think this part is importent because it is based of Johnny's die and also based of the big flight between two groups.) -
Johnny and TWO-BIT visited Johnny
（This part explained Johnny already knew the truth of life were not violence. He don’t want to live with fear. The book indicates the last word from Johnny to Ponyboy. People should stay gold, long for freedom. Although they were in different rank.） -
After they were leaving the hosipital
When Johnny stayed in the hospital, he refused his mother for visiting him .The main reason is Johnny thought his parents do not love him .After Ponyboy and TWO-BIT leaved from the room, they talked about the woman who did many bad things in the past. When they walked to the field, they met Cherry. Cherry can not forgive Johnny even though he saved children’s life. So for Johnny, they must win the fight which will happen tonight . -
Be ready for rumble
Ponyboy was a little uncomfortable. Some of the greasers sited in the room and waiting for the rumble. Ponyboy realized the reason why they wanted to fight, they all had their own reason to fight. Ponyboy really want to go with them ,it is because he believe that give vent to his anger on Soc can let him feel better. Everyone were in prime condition for a rumble. -

( It raises foreshadow that they will win the fight. But this success had no meaning for Johnny. All of them do not understand what Johnny really believe in .) -
Johnny's death1
Soc’s were already waiting for them when they were arrived at the vacant lot. The rumble was began . People were slugging it out and Greaser won. Ponyboy needed to told Johnny this good news , so Dally took him to hospital, on the halfway they met police, Ponyboy pretended he had sick .On the hospital, Johnny was dying. He told Ponyboy stay gold. -
Johnny and TWO-BIT visited Johnny
Ponyboy and TWO-BIT went to hospital to visited Johnny , they told him about their plan that the night will have a rumble. Johnny did not care about revenge, he asked them that he would like to read a book which called GONE WITH THE WIND . Johnny knew he can not walk anymore. He told Ponyboy that he did not want to die now, It ain’t long enough… -
.The emergency after Johnny's death2
(The main reason why Dally dead is he treat Johnny are best friend. They had depth friendship . Dally was unacceptable about death of Johnny. He want to over his life sooner or later, he just can not find a better way to commit suicide. On the other hand, Dally is a greaser, he knew he would die in this way. So he did the stupid thing. ) In the end of chapeter, Ponyboy was ill. Ponyboy was talking in his dream,he want confirm -
The emergency after Johnny's death
The next day, a kind driver took Johnny came back . Everyone who join the rumble had a rest in Darry’s house. Ponyboy looked at all of them and told them the bad news. There was a stricken silence, soon Darry answered the phone from Dally. He robbed a store and polices were catching him , he needed them went to vacant lot to helped him. The last moment ,they reached there just as Dally came in, he turned and jerked a fake gun tried to scared the police. Police shot him ,bullets let him down. -

Randy chatted with Ponyboy in the hosipital. Randy told him it is first time he had felt anything in a long time. Ponyboy was worried about whether if he would be change foster home. Until that time , Ponyboy said the killer is him but not Johnny -

The reason why Johnny is should be treated a hero is he saved children’s life. It is the second time Randy found Ponyboy, this part connect the last time Randy saw Ponyboy.) -
