The Odyssey
For Twenty Years, the great Wayfinder, Odysseus, traveled through chaos, calamity, and death, simply to return to his wife, Penelope. -
Land in Ismarus
Odyssues and the Crew, land in Ismarus, land of the Cicones. Here, Oddyseuss, plunders the village, but looses 72 of his men. He is delayed TWO DAYS because of such loses, but the returns to sail at sea. -
Drift To Lotus Eater Island
After the two days of delay on the Cicone Island because of storms, and nine days of drifting at sea, Oddeseus and the crew bank on the shores of Lotus Island. Here, three men are decieved into never returning home because of the brilliant taste of the Lotus Flower. Hypnotized and tranced, the men are tied to the ship, while the remaining men, high-tail it out of there. -
Land of The Cyclops
After sailing a little while, Odysseus lands on the island of the Cyclops. Here, the men feast for two days, and on the third day the company of men are set out to determine whether or not Cyclopes was an enemy. Trapped in a cave, wtih tweleve of his best men, O is forced to find a way to save them. One night, when Cyclopes is asleep, the crew stabs Cyclope's eye out. The next day, Odysseus ties his crew to the underbellies of the Cyclop's sheep, and escapes as Cyclops rains a curse on them. -
Island of Aeolus
After a while of sailing away from the Cyclop's Island, Odysseus and his men land on the island of Aeolus. They stay here for one month with the "Wind King" before setting sail again. Before their departure, Aeolus gives them two gifts; a fair west wind, and a bag with all the bad winds in it. -
Back to Aeolus
After a month on the island and a while of sailing they come within sight of home, but to O's luck, his men open the bag of bad winds given to him by Aeolus, and the ship is blown back all the way to Aeolus's island. The wind God now believes his journey is cursed and refuses to help him again. -
Land Of Laestrygones
Discouraged and tired, they are now sailing towards the Land Of the Laestrygones. Little to their knowledge, the people of this island are cannibals. Shortly after landing there, they are attacked. Only Odysseus, one ship, and 45 other men survive. -
Aeaea (Circe)
After a close escape of the Cannibals, & short period of sailing, helands on the island of Circe (a witch). She takes one half of O's remaining men and turns them into pigs. O is stuck here for a year trying to save his men when he encounters the god Hermes, who gives him a magical plant called "moly". With the Moly, Odysseus is able to overcome the witches power; however, O makes a deal with Circe, that to be let go, he must visit The Land Of the Dead to hear a prophecy. -
Land Of the Dead
After a year with circe and some sailing, O keeps his promise to the witch. He washes ashore the beaches Of The Land of The Dead to hear a prophecy. The prophecy was that he must not eat Helios' sheep on Thrinacia, that his wife is being saught after from many men, and his son is grown up. here they also made a promise to Elpenor to return to Circe's island and bury him. -
Back to Circe
The crew returns to Circe's island to bury their friend Elpenor like they promised. While there, the witch tells them of Sirens the will soon encounter. She says to cover the men's ears with Wax and to tie O at the front of the ship so he cannot stop. She also says that the will encounter Scylla.... where they will subdue great loss. They MUST ride close to Scylla though, because if they don't Charybdis will storm on them. All this will happen before Thrinacia. -
Back at sea
Odysseus leaves Circe, and continues on the journey. The first obstacle is the sirens. He covers all of his mens' ears in wax. -
Scylla
The men rowed on. After encountering the heavy storms of Charybdis, they meet Scylla. Scylla takes six of his men but they continue on in the rough raging waters. -
Thrinacia
After the exhausting encounters of Scylla and the Charybdis the men BEG O to stop on Thrinacia. Despite Odysseus's warnings of Helios cattle, the men eat them anyway. This angers the Sun God, so in payment, Zeus strikes down O's ship. Every man dies except for Oddyseus. -
Drifts to Ogygia
O drifts to the home of Calypso. Here, O stays for seven years. He is forced to sleep with Calypso every single night, which Breaks O's heart. All he wants to do is go home, however there is no way for him to do so. Eventually, Athena persuades Zeus into sending a messenger to Calypso demanding to let O go. Hermes meets up with Calypso and demands Odysseus's release, however, she is ONLY allowed to help him biuld a raft. -
Floating to Scheria
Odysseus has now been released from his seven year stay with Calypso and has been floating for seventeen days on a raft. The next three days will pummel him with violent storms until he banks on Scheria. -
Banquet with Alcinous
O is on Scheria, where he is welcomed by King Alcinous. A Banquet is held in his honor and this is where he tells his story up to this point. Later that night... the king sends him home -
Arrival at Home
O arrives home,,, but does not recognize it... So Athena tells him he is home. Athena also tells him of the suitors awaiting his arrival and dresses him up as an old man. -
Son arrives Home
Son returns. When the son and Father first meet, they don't automatically realize who each other are, but as Athena turns O into himself, and then back into an old man, the son realizes this is his father. -
Archey Contest
The wife comes downstairs and decideds to have an archery contest. Whoever wins would get to take her hand in marriage. Of course the competition was rigged, and only O would know how to win. No one else could string the bow that they had to use, and no one else could shoot through twelve iron things.... except O of course. -
Kill Suitors
When Odysseus got back home, he was enraged that these men had taken advantage of his wife. So He morphed into Chuck Norris mode with his son, and killed all the Suitors. -
Wife Denial?
The wife is still in denial that this old man/good looking young man could be her husband. So she tests him. If he can put together the bed her husband made so many years ago, she will know it is him. Of course, O is a stud, so she knows it's him and they live happily every after.
