INFDuring the 1970's the Soviet Union decided to switch their intermediate range milles to a newer intermediate range mille that more accurate easier to conceal and dropped. In the 1980's the US and Soviets talked about an agreement to where these missles were to be able to be placed, but in 1983 the Soviets walked out. Fianlly in December !987 the ratification was signed. -

Berlin wall collapsesThe Berlin wall was made to sanction off the east and west parts of Berlin, East to the Soviet Union and the west to the US and its allies. After many years of fighting off wall climbers the wall was finally torn down and the east and west parts were finally reunited. To this day the Berlin Wall is a significant part of the Cold War. -

First McDonalds in MoscowOn this day, many russian civilians waited in line at the first ever McDonalds in Moscow, which they paid several days wages in food. This was a sign of change for the russian civilization, no later the Soviet Union had finally came to a hault and Gorbachev resigned. A visit to this establishment was less political but for enjoyment for a country that was still reeling turmoil. -

Germany reunifiedIn 1990 the parties supporting the reunification of Germany had won the elections. The west also did the same, but the economy had collapsed. Which pushed Germany into a recession. -
Warsaw Pact Dissolved
Warsaw Pact DissolvesThe foreign defense minsters of the Warsaw treaty Orginization met at this time to close down the pact. The Pact dissolved for a number of reasons, a prop for unpopular communist regimes, no popular support and traties became obsolete. The soviets wanted to keep the orginization going but it eventually fell anyway. -

Borris YeltsinDuring his rise, Yelstin had many ups and downs to his career. One of those falls he had a disagreement with Gorbachev, Which led to Gorbachevs Resignment and his rise to presidency. Yeltsin was the first President cast in by popularity. -
AN end to Soviet Russia
End of Soviet RussiaOn this day only 1 of the 15 republics remained as a soviet country. The other 14 already resigned as part of the USSR, also came to the resignation of Mikhail Gorbachev as general secretary. The road was long and tough but came to a finale peaceful end. -
Carribbean Basin Initiative
Carribbean Basin Initiative As enconmic sanctions of trade the Carribean basin Initiative was launched in 1983, with two different revisions, the CBERA and the CBTPA. There were 17 different countries that were a part of the CBERA and 8 of them were also part of the CBTPA. This trade functioned as duty free acces to most markets.
