The Seven Years War
The Seven Year War also known as the french and Indian war, was a seven year major conflict between the British and the French. It all started when Britain and France were fighting over land in between them. Then one day Britain sent a soldier by the name of George Washington to the French colonists with a letter. They then captured George Washington. Soon after George Washington was captured the french released him. Then the French captured Fort necessity.The War began. Thus started the WAR ! -
The Sugar Act
After the Seven Year war the British had a lot of debt like millions of dollars in debt and every year they didn't pay it off they would have to pay it off even more. The British decided the easiest way to pay off their debt was to tax the Colonists. The fist thing they decided to tax was sugar because they all used sugar. When that happen the Colonists weren't to happy. Thus began the British taxing the Colonists. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act, another tax. After the sugar act Britain needed way more money and so they taxed all paper and things made of paper. What happened was if you were buying paper the shop keeper could put a stamp on it and you would then have to pay tax in addition to the original price. The Colonists were even more unhappy. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act, this is when Britain taxed Tea because they thought they would make a lot of money because every one drank tea pretty much. This made the Colonists super mad and it especially made a group of men called the sons of liberty really super mad.The British said that the colonists could only buy from them. Soon after they boycotted all british goods. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party. The sons of liberty were so fed up that on December 16 1773 during the night they dressed up as Native Americans, and went on to a ship and through all of the tea off it. -
The Battle of Trenton
The Battle of Trenton. It took place on the day after Christmas. Washington and his troops were on their way to winter quarters with really low spirits . On their way they were going to pass the Hessian's at their winter quarters. Washington lead his troops to the Hessian's . Washington and his troops sneak attacked them successfully wining this battle.
