    Ends on Earth Day, the day we plant the project's creations :)
    Note : Start and end dates are estimated, not absolute.
  • Group is created, individual member roles are assigned

    Group roles include a gardener, project organizer, and two testers.
  • Meet Mentors at Cargill Company

  • Research must be done by this day

    3 week timespan to collect and compile information that will be useful for the project.
  • Complete Plan for Experiment Procedure

    Use the week to create the lab procedure and revise it.
  • Gather Materials for Lab

    Create a materials list to be more specific while shopping. Are materials missing that aren't provided at Cargill? Don't forget to get the seeds for both the bamboo and trees!
  • Lab Day, Mixing of DNA

    *May be extended to cover two days, takes place at Cargill campus.
  • Cultivate Plants

    Gardener takes home plants to be cultivated for a few months.
  • Plant measurements

    Record initial plant measurements as soon as they peak out of the soil. Gardener must continue to grow the plants.
  • Plant Growth Check-in

    Record measurements of plants from control and test groups.
  • Analyze Test Results

  • Plant Growth Testing

    Measure height and growth of test and control group plants!
  • Create a Test Conclusion and Decide What to do Next

    Was the experiment successful or unsuccessful? Proceed to cultivate the plants if successful, or reconsider and re-plan a new testing procedure if unsuccessful over Thanksgiving Break.
