Olive Branch Petition sent to England
This document was adopted by congress on July, 5 1775. It was sent to the King in hopes that they wouldn't have to go to war. In the document they inscribed their loyalty to the crown and emphasized their rights as British citizens, but in response the King sent 20,000 more troops to end their revolt.
