    78- RPM Record
    78 RPM records are phonograph records the 78 represents its rotational speed or revolution per second. They were made from about the 1898's to the late 1950's. Many 78 RPM records were 12" and produced by V-Disc and sent to American Troops in World War 2.
  • 8-Track Tapes

    8-Track Tapes
    An 8-track tape is a magnetic tape sound recording technology. It was popular from the 1960's to 1970's. Its demise was when the cassette format took over. Ford Motor Company introduced 8-track tape players as an option in three of its 1966 models ( Mustang, Thunderbird, and Lincoln)
  • Floppy Disk

    Floppy Disk
    Invented in 1967 at IBM by Alan Shugart. The Floppy disk started at 8 inches eventually down sized to 5.25 inches being used on the first IBM personal Computer. They stopped making them because the demand for them was very low.
  • VHS

    VHS
    Invented in 1976 in Japan by Sony. Later came to America on June 4, 1977.The stopped using VHS's when the first DVD's came out in the 1995's.
  • CD

    CD
    The compact disc was produced on August 17,1982. It was first made to store sound recordings only then later adapted for data storage. It can hold up to 80 minutes of audio.
