    Trail of Tears

    The Trail of Tears was an Indian removal policy. The Cherokee Nation was forced to give up its lands east of the Mississippi River. It was the Native American tribes that were involved and they called it the Trail of Tears because of its devastating effects.

    Jim Thorpe was an american athlete and gold medalist. He is known for being the world's greatest athlete. He sadly died from a heart attack on March 28 1953.

    Dust Bowl

    The Dust Bowl was a long period of severe dust storms. It affected 5 states; Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico. The Dust Bowl was caused by severe drought. A couple solutions that happened and helped was that the weather changed and some of the families caught up in the drought ended up moving to California. A nickname for the Dust Bowl is The Dirty Thirties.
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    On April 19, 1995 at 9:02 am an anti-government militant Timothy McVeigh took a truck full of explosives and exploded it outside of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma city. The explosion destroyed over 300 buildings, killed 168 people including 19 children and injured over 650 people.
