Ocean trends

  • Abiotic factors of an ecosystem

    Abiotic factors of an ecosystem
There are many abiotic factors in an ecosystem. One of the most impactful is carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide affects many things, but carbon dioxide isn't the only abiotic factor in ocean trends. There is ocean temperature, the pH level of the water, and the acidity. There are many abiotic factors in the category of ocean trends.
  • Fossil Fuels

    Fossil Fuels
Carbon dioxide is one of the most influential abiotic factor. One way carbon dioxide is released is by the burning of fossil fuels. The burning of fossil fuels occurs daily. Humans burn fossil fuels way too often and it is affecting our earth.
  • Increased carbon dioxide

    Increased carbon dioxide
The amount of carbon dioxide has increased greatly over the years. This is because of burning fossil fuels. Humans burning fossil fuels has raise the amount of CO2 to an unhealthy amount. This crazy amount of CO2 has and will continue to impact our earth and our ecosystems.
  • Increased carbon dioxide and decreased pH

Increased carbon dioxide and decreased pH
While CO2 is increasing, pH is decreasing. Carbon dioxide is lowering the levels of pH and making the oceans more acidic. Dissolved CO2 in the oceans makes the oceans more acidic which makes it harder for animals to survive.
  • Ocean Acidification and how it affects the sea life

Ocean Acidification and how it affects the sea life
Ocean acidification affects ocean life greatly. It affects corals and calcifiers. One animals that is greatly affected is the sea urchin. The ocean acidification deteriorates their shells, prevents them from growing, and even kills them. This is an ongoing problem and it happens to many animals not just the sea urchins. This is all caused by the increase in carbon dioxide.
  • Summary

    Summary
There is one clear similarity in how the oceans and coyotes ecosystems are being affected. That is by one abiotic factor; humans. Humans are destroying wild life's habitats. Like we are building on coyotes habitats we are making oceans animals homes acidic. We are making animals suffer just for our greater good. We need to reduce our CO2 levels and we need to stop destroying animals habitats.
