Digital Audi Tapes or DAT for short were recording devices that had higher quality than CD and allowed more skips than normal recorders but because it was so much money it never was big at the consumer level so they soon became obsolete in 2005. -

Alarm Clocks were invented in 725 but with the rise of mobile phones they became obsolete in 2008 -
GPS Devices
Invented in the year 2000, GPS Devices were popular for 10 years until things like google maps came along and GPS that's built into the car. They eventually became obsolete in 2010. -
Encyclopedias
Encyclopedias were made in 1766 and survived all the way to 2010. Then came along the internet which could give you all that information with the click of a button. -
Typewriters
Typewriters were invented in 1867 but because of word processors and personal computers they stopped making them in 2011 -
Phone Booths
Phone booths were invented in 1878 but thanks to cell phones they quickly became obsolete in 2011 -
MiniDisc
Made in 1992 MiniDiscs were made to replace compact cassette. They had a recordable disc that had its own disc player. They were a hit in Japan but didn't do so well in America so they became obsolete in 2013. -
Landlines
Landlines were created in 1876 and were in high demand until mobile phones came along and made landlines obsolete. Landlines became obsolete in 2017 -
Film
Film was created in 1839 and would be popular for 150 years until digital cameras came along and made them obsolete. In 2018 Canon announced that it had finally sold its last film camera.
