Pregnancy/Lactation
Pregnancy- eggs, salmon, beans, sweet potatoes, whole grains, walnuts, greek yogurt, lean meats, and foods with folic acid.
Avoid- Raw meat, uncooked seafoods, and rare or undercooked beef or poultry -
Infancy
Avoid- Honey, Peanut Butter, Tree Nuts, raw Strawberries, Raspberries, blackberries, egg whites, whole milk, grapes, shellfish, and peanuts -
Infancy
Birth to 4 months- Breast milk
4-6 months- Breast milk and pureed food like apples, bananas, peaches, and pears
6-8 months- Breast milk, pureed or strained fruits, pureed or strain veggies, pureed meat (chicken, pork, beef)
8-10 months- mashed fruits, breast milk, finger foods, and small amounts of protein.
10-12 months- Soft pasteurized cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit cut into cubes or strips, or mashed, bite size/soft cooked veggies, combo foods, protein, and iron fortified cereals. -
Toddler
Nurtritional needs- High Fiber, Calcium, Iron, 1,000-1,400 calories a day, Veggies, Fruits, Beans/protein, balanced diet
Avoid- High sugar foods, Soda, processed meats, trans fats. -
Preschool
Nutritional Needs- Starchy foods, Veggies, Fruits, High iron food, High protein, Calcium, Milk/cheese/yogurt
Avoid- Processed foods, High sugar, Soda, Energy drinks, -
School-aged (ages5-12)
Eat veggies, carbohydrates, milk/dairy, and meats/proteins.
Avoid sugary, fatty, and salty foods, Processed Meats, Microwave popcorn, Canned tomatoes, sport drinks, sugary cereals. -
Teen-aged
Nurtritional Needs- 2200-2900 calories, 15% of calories should be protein, No more than 30% fat, Large amount of Calcium,iron, Zinc, Vitamin D
Avoid- Sugary cereal, Full-fat cheese and milk, soda, Fried foods, high-sugar items. -
Adult
Nurtrional Needs - Calcium, iron, Well balanced diet, Healthy fats, Well balanced Diet
Avoid- Soft drinks, trans fats, frozen meals, High-Fructose-Corn-Syrup -
Older Adult
Nurtritional needs - Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Calcium, Vitamin D, Potassium, Magnesium, Fiber
Avoid- Raw Eggs, Unpasteurized milk / juice, Raw fish, Tartar
