Mia and Sarah escape the fasclilty with the help of Adrian but soon finds out that Adrian was a traitor. Adrian tells Saul and he goes after them. Adam hears of this and breaks out to go after Saul. Saul attempts to steal the life of Sarah's new baby Gemma but he fails. He is killed when a statue falls on him and rats eat him alive. Sarah, Adam, Mia, and Gemma live in the town of Bath, England and rebuild their lives there at the end of the book.
