Annemarie and Kirsti Johansen, and Ellen Rosen are stopped in the streets by German Soldiers -
Jewish Shops Close
They notice that Jewish shops are closing down and their families have disapeared. -
Taking Ellen In
The Rosens have been taken to a safe haven for Jews. It was too dangerous to bring Ellen with them so the Johansens have taken her in. Later that night the Nazis came to search their house for Jews. They managed to convince them that she was one their own. -
Going to Uncle Henrik
With the Nazis everywhere, scouring the country for Jews, they fear they have no choice but to visit Uncle Henrik who lives at the edge of Denmark in a small farm in the countryside. -
Great Aunt Birte
First Mrs. Johansen isn't there in the morning. Then they find out Great Aunt Birte is dead. But there is no Great Aunt Birte. What is happening? -
Secret Jewish Gathering
Annemarie questions Uncle Henrik about this staged death. She finds out that it is and excuse for Jews to gather here. The Rosen family. A close family friend named Peter who is a member of the Danish resistance arrives with some other Jews. But of course the Nazis come to crash the party. They convince them it is a normal funeral. After that Uncle Henrik takes the Jews in his boat across into the free country of Sweden. -
Forgetting the Drug.
Mrs. Johansen had broken her ankle on the way back from smuggling out the Jews. Realizing they forgot the drug that makes the Nazi hounds nose blind. Annemarie runs through the forest to get the drug to Uncle Henrik before smuggling out the Jews. She is stopped by a Nazi patrol in the forest and pretends to be a silly little girl. The dogs sniff the drug and go nose blind. She gets it to Uncle Henrik and saves the day.
