On December 10th, 1832, Jackson made a proclamation to the people of South Carolina, stating his thoughts on the Ordinance of Nullification, that being he was against it. It was stated that he would never support the Ordinance and that he would do everything in his power to fight it. -
Ordinance of Nullification
This was an act taken by South Carolina that considered the Tariff of Abomination null and void within the state borders. Legislature within their borders would enforce this as well.
