    This allowed for Jackson to issue federal troops to forcefully enforce any law and in this case tariffs in an act of nullification in states. This was a response to South Carolinas claim for nullification.

    This was written unanimously by John C. Calhoun this was a response to the tariff of abominations that reinforced the idea of nullification and claimed the tariff to be unconstitutional and that the states have a right to nullify the tariff.

    Designed to protect industries in North and western products from foreign competition by placing taxes on foreign goods which made it more expensive to live in the South. John C. Calhoun made the South Carolina exposition and protest calling for nullification of the tax.

    This is a response due to Jackson dismissing South Carolina's nullification proclamation, Hayes Claimed that if a state is being oppressed by a law, that state can deem the law unconstitutional and void. He countered Jacksons response to sending troops to South Caolina by continuing to nullify the federal tariffs due to the Souths. Anger about those taxes.

    Though they are still angry about the tariffs and their economy taking a toll. the convention reconvened in response to their nullification of the ordinance being dismissed they called for a repeal on their nullification of the tariffs that were placed to protect Northen industries to try to have power to nullify those tariffs.
