Cotton GIn
Eli Whitney created the cotton gin. Made clothes easier to make and cotton became king.Due to the cotton gin more slaves were necaessy to keep the plaintions runing. -
Dred Scott Decison
In 1830's Ded Scott a enslaved African American man taken by his slaveholder. The decison was about how he was going to become a free slave in the states. Scott ended up losing his cases in 1857. On march-6-1857 the court said that Scott would always be a slave in the states Dred Scott was born in 1830's in vergina. -
Compromise of 1850
The state had a choice if they wanted to be a free or slave state.
For eight mouths they debated about the compromise.in 1849 there were 15 free states and 15 slaveholders.Californa tryed to become a free state with the union. -

This act created new territories for Kanasa and Nebraska.It also was where people voted to have slavery or to not have slavery in the states.In 1854 senator Stephen Douglas of illinois wanted too sattle people in the west. He also sponsored the Kansas-Nebraska Act in !856. -
