The Tuscarora War is fought

Several sources of conflict arose between the British Coloniesand the Tuscarora. After the death of John Lawson, the Tuscarora chief organized a force to drive out the colonists. On September 23, 1711 small raidng parties vegan assaulting plantations hear Bath. -
Carolina officially splits into North Carolina and South Carolina
The Split
The northern half of Carolina had a deputy governor and this arragement provided better administration. Which then lead to Carolina officially splitting into North and South Carolina in 1712. -
Edenton is established

It was first named Queen Ann's Town. It was the center of the Albemarle region.

Pirate (Blackbeard) ships were attacked

A chipwreck forced Blackbeard to desert the ship and with the remaing chip they sailed to Bath in North Carolina. Blackbeard's were later defeated. -
The boundary between North Carolina and Virginia was finally established
NC & VA border
The border was vague until 1728, when the survey, lead by William Byrd II was conducted. The group defined the land from the coast to about 240 miles inland in what is now Stokes County.
