Hana's Suitcase Timeline

  • Introduction

    Hello, dear readers! As you may know, I am doing a timeline project based on the very intriguing and informative book “Hana’s Suitcase”. In this timeline, you will be learning about the key events that happened in the book. These events don’t only include events that happened to Hana and George, but they also include key events that happened to Fumiko.   • Intro to the Bradys

    The first event is when the author introduces the Brady family. It says that they are upper-middle class men and that they own a shop.
  • Nazis Are Coming

    The Nazis come to Nove Mesto. They put more and more restrictions and they are gaining ground in Europe.
  • Secret Society Sneak in

    Hana and George are homeschooled because of Jewish restrictions and the Secret Society took Hana’s mother away.
  • Aunt Hedda and Uncle Ludvik Come in

    Hana’s father was taken away by the Nazis but their uncle Ludvik and their aunt Hedda took care of them.
  • Theresienshdt

    Hana and George are ordered to report to Theresienstadt and are separated when they arrive.
  • George Goes Bye Bye (To Auschwitz)

    Hana and George find each other again and they find their grandma, but sadly their grandma dies. Now George is sent to a Labor Camp with other able-bodied men.
  • Auschwitz

    Hana gets sent to Auschwitz soon after George is sent there.
  • War is No More

    George is freed from Auschwitz, the war ends, and he goes back to his home town.
  • Parents Are Now Dead

    George looks for his parents, but he finds out that they were both murdered at the Death Camps they were sent to.
  • Hana is Also Dead

    George starts to look for Hana. He finds her friend from Theresienshdt, Marta, but she tells him that she was murdered in the gas chambers the moment she arrived.
  • Happy Endings

    A Japanese woman named Fumiko sends future George a letter asking him to talk and educate people about hi experience during the Holocaust. George comes to the museum and informs people there about the Holocaust and his experiences.
  • Conclusion
