The Bohr Model
Niels Bohr adapted Rutherford's model of the atom to Max Planck's quantum theory which proposed that energy does not flow evenly but is released in "discreet packets" and in doing so, created the renowned Bohr model of the atom. The fact that it incorporated many of the key concepts from Rutherford's model have led to the common merger of the name "Rutherford-Bohr" to refer to the model. ThoughtCo. -

Escape from Denmark
With the rise of Nazism in occupied Denmark, Bohr’s opposition to the regime and Jewish ancestry on his mother's side of the family tree made him a target for the Nazis. His presence in Denmark made him a liability, causing the Allies to contact and convince him to flee Denmark through Sweden, into Great Brittan and eventually the United States in 1943, where he assisted with the Manhattan Project.
