    Niels Bohr October 7, 1885 - November 18, 1962

While studying at Copenhagen University Bohr entered a contest held by the Academy of Science at the University. Bohr's experimentation focused on surface tension by oscillating fluid jets. Bohr won the prize and experiment was published in Transactions of the Royal Society, 1908.

    1913, Bohr's Atom

A year earlier, 1912, Bohr studied radioactive sciences and created a theory on the absorption of alpha rays. This was published in Philosophical Magazine. In 1913, after completing his previous study Bohr created an atomic structure model. Bohr based his model Rutherford's discovery of the atomic nucleus. Later, in 1922, Bohn will be awarded a Nobel Prize for his work on atomic structure.

    Water Droplet Theory

In 1930 Bohn redirected and focused his research on atomic nuclei and their being. 1936 Bohn recognized that in nuclear processes justifies the transition to be more in a classical way than the case of the atoms. A water droplet best models a nucleus, thus creating the Water Droplet Theory. This theory helped the understanding of nuclear fission and created a platform for future theoretical studies.

    Quantum Physics

Bohn created the 'Concept of Complimentary' to provide clarification of the problems he encountered in quantum physics. During WWI Bohn became associated with the Atomic Energy Project and devoted his work for a peaceful application of atomic physics.
