    Niels Bohr's Birth
Niels Henrik David Bohr was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 7th, 1885 as the son of Christian Bohr, Professor of Physiology at Copenhagen University, and his wife Ellen, née Adler, who descended from a family of prestigious educational scholars.

Niels Bohr collaborates with Ernest Rutherford
Niels Bohr worked with Rutherford to reanalyze the results of the Gold Foil Experiment. After carrying out a theoretical piece of work on the absorption of alpha rays, Bohr passed a study of the structure of atoms on the basis of Rutherford’s discovery of the atomic nucleus. Once he began introducing concepts borrowed from the Quantum Theory of Max Planck, he succeeded in producing a picture of atomic structure that served as the legacy of our currently used atomic model today.

Niels Bohr proposes his theory on Atomic Structure
In 1913, Niels Bohr proposed his theory of atomic structure based on quantum theory that some physical quantities only take discrete values. Electrons orbit the nucleus of the atom in a specific, organized pattern. Additionally, if electrons jump to a lower-energy orbit, the difference is sent out as radiation. This improved concept explained the different forms of radiation between elements and proposed the stabilized electron orbit of atoms.
