The Bohr Model and The Trilogy
In 1913, the first of three publications now known as “the Trilogy” produced by Niels Bohr was issued. The “Bohr model” broke down how “quantum” energy was released while electrons transferred orbit, thus unifying Max Planck’s quantum theory to Earnest Rutherford’s nuclear structure.

  • Nobel Prize

Improving on his earlier work, Bohr build a more in depth atomic model while adding electrons to atoms. This ultimately led to the discovery of a new atom that behaved as Bohr’s work predicted known as “halfnium”. Einstein vs. Bohr debates
On this date, one of the most famous philosophy of science debates in recent history occurs between Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein. Einstein defending relativity, while Bohr argues the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics at the Solvay conference in Belgium.

After spending his years after World War 2 helping scientists escape Nazi Germany, he became a driving force behind the development of the Large Hadron Collider until it was transferred to Geneva in 1957.
