Atom
What Niels Bohr is most famous for is his work describing the structure of an atom. in 1913 he submitted a theory for the hydrogen atom having electrons jump between different orbits emitting energy in the form of fixed light wavelengths. Also in 1913 he had work published in the Philosophical Magazine on the absorption of alpha rays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1LDJUu4nko -

Copenhagen interpretation
Niels Bohr along with fellow physicists Werner Heisenberg, Max Born and others came up with the Copenhagen interpretation for quantum mechanics. It essentially stated that uncertainty was a given and that this should be accepted in science. This was debated over at the conference, and Albert Einstein was among those who disagreed. A good example of this uncertainty is the double-slit experiment. -
Yin and Yang
It is possible that Bohr was more of a philosopher than a scientist, or that he may have wanted it to be this way. He used his complementarity principle to compare to yin and yang and how it could solve the problem of opposites. -
fifth Solvay International Conference
In 1927 Niels Bohr attended a conference with others focusing on electrons and photons. It seems that he shared his idea of complementarity which had its roots in philosophy as well as science for Bohr. It was the idea that two separate attributes are needed to describe one single thing. The duality of the wave-particle was key and with other physicists they came up with the Copenhagen interpretation which has to do with quantum mechanics.
