  • Nick Park early days

    Nick Park was born on December 6th, 1958 in Preston, Lancashire, England. As a young boy Park had shown great interest in drawing, his favourite being cartoons. He was a huge fan of the Beano comics. At an early age Park had a passion for filmmaking, He would take his mother's home movie camera to create films.

    With a great young mind making films as he was younger, he went on to study at the National Film and Television School in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom where he later created the soon-developed Wallace And Gromit.

    Wallace & Gromit origin
    While attending the National Film and Television School as a graduation project he decided to animate characters he had been working on for quite some time now, being a man with a flat cap and a mustache alongside a clever cat. Which later was overturned into a dog, and the man lost the mustache. The animation had them assembling a rocket and launching it into space for a comedic adventure around the moon.

    After finishing college Nick was offered a job spot for Aardman animating commercials in exchange for studio time and additional resources to finish up his late graduation project "A Grand Day Out".

    A Grand Day Out was finally finished and televised on Channel 4 on Christmas Eve in 1990. The newly filmed animation didn't take long for people to pick up on it and soon a new production was in the making for a second part of A Grand Day Out.

    After Nick's first production and the great succes it had amassed. Nick started a new production The Wrong Trousers another film of the adventures of Wallace & Gromit set in a zoo and an evil penguin named Feathers McGraw. Who attempts to steal an invention the techno trousers from Wallace in order to complete a heist.

    A Close Shave
    Nick's third production of Wallace & Gromit was "A Close Shave". In this film, the two start a glass-cleaning business where they soon meet a sheep owner Wendolene. As they help her discover an evil mechanical dog has been running a sheep scheme and free the sheep.

    These three original films sparked many more animations and many more to come following the Early Man, Shaun the Sheep, and Chicken Run spin-offs, which created a remarkable and memorable work from Nick Park. Easily recognizable by many.
