Pa State constitutional convention
Extended voting rights from white males who were 21 and pay taxes to allowing more men to vote without paying taxes. It also removed the requirement to having to be Christian to hold office. -
Constitution
The new constitution replaced the old article of confederation. The delegates met in Philadelphia to create the document. -
Fries rebellion
Lots of people did not agree with the taxes on land, houses, and slaves. To solve the problem the German Americans of eastern pa decided to protest against the tames, and this lead to an undeclared war to brake out between U.S. and France. While some of these protesters were being taken and in prisoner john fries freed some of the protesters and protest leaders. He was later caught and was found guilty and sentenced to be hung. Thankfully president adam let him and two others go. -
Whiskey rebellion
The government put an excise tax on whiskey to raise revenue. Farmers didn’t agree with the excise taxes on the whiskey because they couldn’t make any money.
