Marie Martin decided to join the Convent of the St.Ursula
- A convent is a community of nuns who are women who dedicated to the God and the Church.
- This was important to New France because before the ursulines there were only schools for boys, the usulines established schools for the French and first Nation girls.

Madeleine was the first women to own a seigneury in New France. She did all the work herself and spoked the rights of other settlers -
The Coureurs des bois
They people who traded illegally. They were challenging the governor because the governer wanted to control the fur trade. So the king made a rule in 1696 that every person who goes to trade with the First Nation people have to go and return or they will get a punshiment. -

Lost of Acadia (treaty of Utrecht)
In the war of the spanish successions Fraqnce and Britain were fighting to control the colonies in lots of places. Brititan got control of Acadia, the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. In 1713 the frech and the british made a peace treaty at Utrecht in the Netherlands. As part of the treaty each side had to give back some of the land the won over. Britian offered to give back Acadia, Guadeloupe, Martinique. The French chose to give up Acadia -

Wolfe (british) had 4000 soldiers to attack Beauport. Montcalm (French) a put a lot of soldiers there. Wolfe made a plan to pretend that he was going to attack Beauport again so that Montcalm wil sent more troops there. Wolfe decided to attack from the west Side of Quebec..
Sept 12:
Wolfe sent Frence speaking troops to get past the guard post.
The troops killed the guards and wolfe now had 5000 troops up the path to the plains of Abraham. Wolfe and Matcalm were killed in the battle. -
Treaty of Paris 1763
The seven years' war ended in 1763 Britian and the French signed a peace treaty in Paris.
