  • Agricultural Adjustment Act Passed

    Agricultural Adjustment Act Passed
    The purpose of the Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) was to protect farmers from the drops in prices by providing crop subsidies to reduce production, educational programs to teach methods of preventing soil erosion. This act helped stop the depression because the government was giving farmers money to not plant as much crops to get rid and prevent surpluses of food. This act was ruled unconstitutional by the supreme court on January 6, 1936.
  • Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)

    Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC)
    The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a way for the Roosevelt administration to provide relief from the Great Depression. The CCC provide jobs to young men on conservation projects. By the CCC providing jobs it helped end the depression quickly. The CCC ended in 1942 but before doing so provided almost 3 million young men with jobs.
  • Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

    Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)
    The Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 established the FDIC. The FDIC federally insured individual bank accounts to reassure bank customers that thier money is safe. This helped the great depression by having people know their money is safe in the bank therefore they won't have to take that money out. The FDIC is still used today and many banks are insured by the FDIC.
  • Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)

    Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
    The Federal Securities Act, which was passed in 1933, made corporations provide complete information on all stock offerings and made them liable for any misrepresentations. To help regulate this new act and further regulate the stock market the SEC was established. This helped the depression by keeping the stock market true and avoiding another crash. The SEC is still in use today monitoring the stock market and checking stock shares.
  • Rural Electrification Administration (REA)

    The Rural Electrification Act founded the REA. The REA's main goal was to provide electricity to isolated rural areas. by 1945 48% of farms had electricity and by 1949 90% of farms did. This helped the depressin by making electricity cheap and affordable so that farms could have more luxury. T
  • National Youth Administration (NYA)

    National Youth Administration (NYA)
    The National Youth Administration (NYA) was part of the Public Works Administration that provided job training for young people and part time jobs for needy students. The NYA also helped pay for students collage costs. The NYA was stopped in 1943 but helped many students before doing so. This program helped the depression by giving young people the opprotunity to learn and make money so that they werent as dependent on their parents.
  • National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)

    National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
    The Wagner Act prohibited unfair labor practices such as threatening workers, firing union members, and interfering with union organizing. The act also set up the National Labor Relations Board to hear testimony of unfair practices. This program helped the depression by making pay higher so people were making more money and making work enviroments easier. The NLRB is still in use today monitering wages and union organizations.
  • Social Security Administration

    Social Security Administration
    The Social Security Act, passed in 1935, was the act that the Social Security Administration was made around. The act had three main parts, they include old-age insurance for retirees 65 or older and their spouses, unemployment compensation, and aid families with dependent kids and people with disabilities. The Social Securitiy Administration is still in use today helping wit hthose three points. This helped the depression by making more jobs availible.
