Who was Nelson Mandela
He was a south african lawyer, anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country`s first black president. -

Mandela´s parents were Gadla Henry and Nosekeni Fanny. When Mandela was 9 his father died and his mother leave him with a regent named Mqhekezweni. -

In 1948 Nelson Mandela organize a revolt of civil disobeys without violence from the ANC in opposition to the Apartheid. -
THE ARREST
After ten years of fight, the South African government outlaw the politic party, after that, Mandela and the rest of activists carried out an armed fight. In 1962 Mandela was arrested and imprisioned the folowing 27 years of his life. -

Exit of the jail and presidency of South Africa
The government decided to put at liberty to Mandela on February 11, 1990. Three months after his liberation, it was chosen to lead the ANC.In 1994 there were celebrated the first democratic elections of the history of South Africa by him as victor, turning this way into the first black president of South Africa. -
