Hayden Planetarium
In 1996 Neil became director of the Hayden Planetarium and oversaw its renovation. The renovation was completed in 2000. -
Controversies
In 2000 after the reopening of the Hayden planetarium, Neil did not include Pluto as a planet. He received backlash from the community but he stood his ground. -
Space plans
in 2004, Neil was appointed to a 9 member committee to discuss and create regulations for space explorations in the future. This policy was later named "Moon, Mars and Beyond". -
