Childhood
Neil Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930. He grew up with a brother and sister. His parents names were Stephen Koenig Armstrong and Viola Louise Engel. His brothers name was Dean and his sisters name was June.

First Flight
When he was six, his father took him on his first airplane ride. This made him want to fly something in the air. Later, when he went to school, as soon as he started going there he started taking flying lessons. Then he knew he wanted to be a pilot.

The College Years

While he was there he co-directed there musical. He also was a part of Kappa Kappa Phi's All American Band. When he was done with college, he graduated with a 4.8 GPA and got his degree.

Neil's Family
Neil was married to a lady named Janet Elizabeth Shearon in 1956. They had three children: Mark, Eric, and Karen. His daughter Karen had a tumor in her brain. She died in January 28, 1962 because of weak health. Later, he got divorsed to Janet and married Carol Held Knight in 1994.

Neil Armstrong was appart of Apollo 11. This misson was to be the first person to step foot on the moon. Neil went to the moon with Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Neil stayed exploring the moon for 8 days. At first, he was very nervous because he had not been on a very important misson like this one. While he was on the moon, he planted a flag. Neil Armstrong was the first American to step foot on the moon. -
After Apollo 11
