Christopher columbus wanted to claim the island for himself.He also wanted to explore the far-off lands beyond europe. -
U.S. Indian policy became further defined by three landmark Supreme Court decisions. An Act to provide for an exchange of lands with the Indians residing in any of the states or territories, and for their removal west of the river Mississippi.
The British and Spanish colonies began setting out treaties with the native people. they were treating them as politically independent groups. -
