Christopher Columbus and his crew was washed up on the shore of the Bahamas and he claimed it forfinding the new world in 1492. He had an encounter with the taino indians, who are the native americans and they were naked. -

Hernan Cortes conquers the Aztecs
Hernando Cortes led a group European settlers to Mexico in 1521 to conquer the aztecs who were ruled by montezuma. The aztecs and the european settlers had a big battle that was pretty bad. The battle happened because the europeans thought that the aztecs were rejecting God when they really just didin't understand their language. -

Founding of Jamestown
Virginia had it's first permanent English colony in 1607 named Jamestown. The pilgrims had just landed in Plymouth in Massachusetts 13 years before then. Jamestown was sponsered by a virginia company of london. -
Bacon's Rebellion
Nathaniel Bacon led the rebellion. He wanted to campain against the Native americans, so he got all of his supporters and marched in Jamestown and got Sir William Berkeley to grant permission to keep campaining against them. -

The Proclamation of 1763
This was a celebration in the colonies for the end of the French and Indian war. This founded four new colonies. -

This treaty ended the american revolution and was signed by Great Britian and The American Colonies. -
Treaty of Greenville
For eight months the americans and the natives worked on negotiating the treaty. Leaders of many indians signed the treaty. -
Louisiana Purchase
The United States doubled the size of the young republic by purchasing 828,000,000 suare miles of territory from France with the Louisiana purchase. -

They had a two year journey. They were sent to find a water route that the columbia and missouri rivers were connected. Thomas Jefferson sent them. This led to more land access. -

Tecumseh and The Prophet were brothers who were Indian. The Prophet practiced witchcraft. Tecumseh was known very well by the people, he was a statesman and a patriot. Tecumseh joined the British and was killed in 1812. -

The British allies were the creek indians and the US had a victory against. The leader of the creek indians was tecumseh and he died in the war. -
The Indian Removal Act
This act gave the president permission to exchange west lands that were not settled with indian lands within state borders. The act was signed by Andrew Jackson into law. -
Worcester vs. Georgia
Georgia had a campaign to get rid of the cherokee indians that owned land in the georgia borders. -
Trail of Tears
Almost 125,000 Native Americans live on millions of acres of land in the begging of the 1830s. People were forced out of their homes and had to walk several miles along the mississippi river by the federal govr=ernment. -
Gold discovered in California
This was known as the Gold Rush. About 80,000 immigrants came to California from all over the world to search and dig for gold. -
Sand Creek Massacre
Members of the Colorado Territory, about 700, embarked on an attack. The US Army Col. John Chivington led the militia.
