Sand Creek Massacre

A peaceful band of Southern Cheyenne and Apapahoe Native Americans are massacred by Colonel John Chivington's Colorado volunteers at Sand Creek, Colorado. An estimated 70-500 Native Americans were killed and mutilated that day by the United States Army.

Battle of Little Bighorn

The Battle of Little Bighorn was fought near the Little Bighorn River in the Montana Territory. U.S. troops were lead by Lieutenant George Custer against a band of Lakota, Sioux, and Cheyenne warriors. Tensions between the two groups had been rising since gold was discovered there.

Massacre at Wounded Knee

This was a massacre of nearly three hundred Lakota people, by the soldiers of the United States Army. This was a botched attempt to disarm the Lakota camp.
