Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster
The Space Shuttle Challenger was lost 1 minute and 13 seconds after lift off. All 7 crew members were lost. -
Post Challenger Return to Flight
On September 29, 1988, the Space Shuttle Discovery was launched marking the return of the Space Shuttle Program after the Challenger Disaster. -
Space Shuttle Columbia is Lost
On January 16, 2003 the Space Shuttle Columbia was launched. On return on February 1, 2003 the Shuttle was lost upon re-entry loosing 7 astronauts. -
Post Columbia Return to Flight
STS-114 was the first Return to Flight mission since the tragic loss of Columbia Feb. 1, 2003. Two and a half years were spent researching and implementing safety improvements for orbiters and external tanks. -
Final Shuttle Mission
The Space Shuttle Atlantis landed at Kennedy's Shuttle Landing Facility Runway 15 marking the end of the Space Shuttle Program.
