French Reign of Terror
During the year of 1773, there was a great upheaval in the French political system where many people tried to revolt against the new Republic of France. Napoleon supported the Republic as a strategist, annd he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the French military. -
Promoted to Majour General
During the year of 1795, Napoleon was a key part of suppressing a royalist coup, with the intent of reinstating a monarchy in France. As a commendaiton for doing this, he was promoted to Majour General in the French military. -
Napoleon fought Austria
Napoleon led a large army against France's bitter rival, Austria. This war ended in 1797 in the Treaty of Campo Formia, with a victory for the French. -
Napoleon's rapid promotions
This begins the three years in which Napoleon is quickly promoted in the French army in Italy, Egypt, and several other countries. He became General in Command of these French army divisions. -

In the few years before, two competing factions clashed for power in France, while Napoleon was leading the French army of Italy. When Napoleon returned to France on this date, both factions stopped fighting and recognized Napoleon as their country's saviour. -
Coup of 18 Brumaraire
Napoleon headed a coup to seize power from the French Directory. He succeeded, and was instated as the first Consul out of three Consuls, in the Firat Consolate of France. Napoleon soon used this power to crown himself emperor in 1804. -
Napoleon drove Austria out of Italy
This victory marked Napoleon's first victory as the First Consul, which lead his power to be even more solid and unshakable. -
Napoleon First Consul for life
An amendment to the French Constitution ruled Napoleon as the First Consol for as long as he lives, and two years later he crowned himself Emperor using this power. -

In this year, Napoleon sols a large amount of land to America for the purpose of using the profits to fund his armies in the Napoleonic Wars. -

In 1804, during the Napoleonic Wars, Napoleon crowns himself Emperor of France, and continues to lead the French army against all of Europe. -

Napoleon annulls his marriage to Josephine de Beauharnais for the purpose of remarrying to sire a male heir. -

Napoleon led troops into battle many times, and during the ten years between 1799 and 1809, he was completely undefeated. -
