    Oral communication is the earliest way of teaching and learning in human history. Stories, myths and histories were transferred through oral communication.Homer's Iliad and the Odyssey are great examples of learning and memorizing by oral communication.(Bates & Bates, 2015)

    Written Communication

    Written Communication
    Writing is also one of the oldest ways in teaching and learning history. For example, according to bible, Moses used chiseled stone to convey the ten commmandments in a form of writing, around 7th BC. Another example to written communication is the invention of printing press in Europe in the 15th century. It made written knowledge easier to acces. Written communication is still one of the effective ways to convey knowledge and ideas.(Bates & Bates, 2015)
  • Broadcasting and Video

    Broadcasting and Video
    BBC began broadcasting educational radio programs for schools in the 1920s. Television was first used in education in the 1960s for schools and for general adult education. Satellite broadcasting started to become available in the 1980s. YouTube started in 2005 and was bought by google in 2006. (Bates & Bates, 2015)

    Computer Technologies
    B.F. Skinner started experimenting with teaching machines that made use of programmed learning in 1954, based on the theory of behaviourism. These machines were the first forms of computer based learning. PLATO was a generalized computer assisted system originally developed at the University of Illlinois, and, by the late 1970s, comprised several thousand terminals worldwide. AI began in the mid 1980s, with the focus of teaching arithmetic. (Bates & Bates, 2015)
