    Book Buddies
In early elementary years, we had 5th or 6th grade book buddies. Students chose their own book for their book buddies to read with them. I did enjoy this and liked it even more when I got to become the older one helping the younger children.

Still, I continued to struggle with comprehension and often used cliff notes. I didn't practice much or try to increase my comprehension skills, but still managed to get through literature classes. Videos often helped me!

I placed one course lower then college level English, however had to take a reading course as well. I finished the American Mid West themed reading course just a couple semesters ago at CSN. I actually enjoyed much of the short interesting reads.
  • English Composition

    English Composition
In college level English classes, I did well in almost all aspects of the class and truly enjoy writing. When we had an analysis essay relating to a reading I had trouble. Professors I really enjoyed were the ones who allowed class discussions about the readings and I was able to hear others point of view.
  • Today

    Today
I enjoy reading short articles and even some of my texts for college, however it is easier when I am interested in the topic. I still take notes as I go either down on paper or stop every so often to discuss what is happening in my head. For the most part, I avoid long chapter books, unless academically needed.
