Picking up Books to Read
At the age of 6, I started to find a bigger interest in books and would read them in Spanish and English. -
Scholastic Book Fair
Every few months in elementary we would have a book fair at the school library I would make sure my dad gave me money so I could buy a few new books. -
Popcorn Reading
It became a strategy my teacher would use a lot in the classroom, I was shy, but it made me focus more on the text and what was being read. -
"Reading Time"
In my 5th grade class we would go to the library about once a week and spend about 30 mins reading a book with a partner and sharing what we read. -
Made my Own Book
We had the opportunity to make our own book about any topic I chose Vikings. They gave us a blank book with a chard over and pages in it. We were able to get very creative with it and learn about our topic at the same time. it was very enjoyable. -
Series of Books
Entering, middle school I was into The Magic Tree House, Junie B Jones and Captain Underpants. -
Reading Log
We were assigned a certain amount of reading that had to be done at home then a parent of guardian had to sign off on it. -
Books about Life
Now in college for many years we had books assigned to us. They were relatable because they were reality and how we can make a difference in our lives. -
Textbooks
Reading books that are for my degree as an instructor has become a learning experience where I can expand on my knowledge in certain areas. -
First Read Aloud
Did my first read aloud in front of the class, it wasn't perfect, but with practice I will get better.
