My parents used to read to me before I could even comprehend what was happening within the book. -

In kindergarten a program entitled "I See Sam" was used to help teach my class to read. The stories consisted of combinations of typically three word combinations and increased after each level. -

I got to experience my first time with reading centers using cassette tapes and following along with the narrator. -

In first grade we were expected to read books from the school library and then take comprehension tests through a program entitled Accelerated Reader. -

In first grade I was given my first reading log which was used to summarize what I had read. -

In second grade I received an AR medal for receiving a certain amount of points for taking tests. -
