  • Summer Reading- "When You Reach Me"

Summer Reading- "When You Reach Me"
I would rate this novel 3.5 out of 5 stars.
This book reminded me when i was in 4th grade. Due to the young character's immature actions, i was able to recall similar moments.Overall i didn't like the plot of the story because i found it confusing.
  • 1st Workshop Novel- "Bound"

    1st Workshop Novel- "Bound"
I would rate this book a 2 out of 5. I wasn't able to compare myself to the characters because they were unrealistic. I didn't like the fact that i couldn't imagine the setting due to the lack of description.
  • Outsiders

    Outsiders
I would rate this a 9 out of 10. I liked the fact that the author used descriptive language to imagine the time period. Also i liked the fact that u can feel what was going on because the author put a tone to the story.
  • 2nd Workshop Novel- "Zen and the Art of Faking it"

2nd Workshop Novel- "Zen and the Art of Faking it"
I would rate this story a 5 out of 5.When San Lee moves to a new town and school for what seems like the hundredth time, he is looking for a way to stand out. His knowledge of Zen Buddhism provides the answer and the need to quickly become a convincing Zen master. Because Zen was in 7th grade i was able to relate to some of the situations he was put in.
  • The Maze Runner

    The Maze Runner
I would rate this book a 5 out of 5. The author used descriptive language to describe what it was like in the glade and the struggles that the gladers had to face. I was able to imagine an everyday life for a glader.
  • 3rd Workshop Novel- "Pretty Little Liars"

3rd Workshop Novel- "Pretty Little Liars"
I would rate this book a 4 out of 5. The author wasn't always clear with the characters because every chapter it would be one of the four girl's point of view. The 4 girls are Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hanna. They are all spoiled rich kids that live in a high class communtiy but they all have a dirty secret.
  • The Giver

    The Giver
i would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. Jonas was put in a position that no 12 year old would imagine being in. The elders were right to put him in that position but at the same time he was young and immature so he made bad decisions sometimes.

I have grown as a reader and a thinker this year. I have read 16 books this year. That is a huge accomplishment for me. From the books i learn lots of new words so i incorporate it into my writing. For next year i hope to read 20 books! From reading books it has expanded my imagination making me think of thing and realize things that i have never thought or realized before.
