    Summer reading novel: Uglies

    Summer reading novel: Uglies
I would rate this book a 4/5 because although it was very good and the ending was a cliffhanger, it took a lot of time to describe many things. The main character, Tally, always dreamed of becoming a pretty when she turned 16. When she finally turns 16 and goes to get the operation to turn pretty, she can't because she had to locate the friend that she helped escape from the horrible, decieving world that they lived in.

  • 2nd workshop novel: Because of Winn Dixie

2nd workshop novel: Because of Winn Dixie
I would rate this book 5/5. I really enjoyed the book because of the twists and turns that occured. The main character, Opal, encounters a homeless dog at a grocery store, and she claims it the be hers in order to avoid the dog getting sent to the pound. Opal and Winn-Dixie (the dog) go through a pleasant life really different than either of them have ever experienced in their entire life.

    Literature Circles: The Book Thief
I would rate this book a 5/5. I really enjoyed this book very much because of the way Marcus Zusac formatted the novel and the charcaters that he included in it. The narrator, Death, told the story of how a girl Liesel was german during the Holocaust and how she and her brother were supposed to get sent to another family. Only Liesel survived, living with her new guardians, Hans and Rosa. When a Jewish person comes to live with Liesel, she struggles to keep the Jew a secret from the Nazis.
  • 3rd workshop novel: Legend

    3rd workshop novel: Legend
I would rate this book a 5/5. I enjoy this book because of all of action and adventure that is involved in the novel. The main character, Daniel or A.K.A. "Day", struggles to survive in the city of Los Angelos during the plague. He struggles not olny to provide life for not only him, but his family that thinks he's dead. Day is known as a dangerous threat to the city, so all citizens want him dead. A girl name June runs into Day and helps him to figure what the symbol on his family's door meant.
  • Class reading: The Giver

    Class reading: The Giver
I would rate this book a 5/5. This fiction book keeps its reader very interested and thinking about how different the setting is compared to reality. In the novel, choices are made for each citizen, however, people today get to live their own lives. Also, everything and one in the Giver society are the same with skin tone, hair color, eye color, birthdays, living styles, etc. There's a major difference between how life is lived in reality to the Giver community.
