Preschool Parties

2000

I used to read to my stuffed animals and have tea parties with them in my bedroom.

Kindergarten

2001

I remember reading sight words with my teacher in the library.

Kindergarten part 2

2002

We were rewarded by being allowed to read in the bathtub located in the classroom for good behavior.

Harry Potter

2003

I tried to read Harry Potter in second grade but couldn't understand it or continue reading it.

Reading to Animals

I loved reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "The Grouchy Ladybug" to my cats and hermit crabs.

Girlscouts

2004

I read a lot for Girl Scouts especially when we went on trips.

The Fort

2005

I would read everyday in my fort in the backyard, my favorite books to read were Nancy Drew mystery books.

Moving to Flower Mound

I read "Esperanza Rising" and many other books the summer I moved to a new city.

Sixth Grade

My 6th grade English teacher helped my become a better reader and writer, she was an influential person in my life.

I would go to the public library on the weekends with my mom to check out new books.

Favorite Teacher

My sophomore English teacher helped me enjoy reading again and provided books for us to read in class, my favorites were "Perks of Being a Wallflower" and "Night".

Home group

2012

I was a part of a youth home group with my church throughout high school, I read my bible and wrote in my journal weekly.

College

2017

In Dr. Fite's class my junior year of college I wrote my own children's book titled "Holly the Hippo".
