In a magic and magnificent night was born Laura and Vitín's third child: Yexania. -
Her early years
Yesy started her early years living in a humble family of five: Daddy, Mommy, Pipo, Ysuannette and herself. She's first words was: PAPA and TATA. -

83-89 Yesy's Growin Up!
Yesy began his primary education in Rodulfo del Valle Elementary Shcool, Ponce. Fourth through sixth grade she had attended Santa Teresita's Elementary School. These were her early years experimenting English. In sixth grade English class became her favorite subject. She was one of the teacher's assistants in the English class. Yesy participed in various Local English's Contest. -

89-93 The bud is blooming...
She completed her Middle academic years at the Manuel González Pato's Middle School. In seventh grade, Yesy took the Advance English course: Oral Communication with Ms. Morales. This course was developed conversational English. It was a very different and fun for her. She really enjoy the class. These class developed skills in grammar and oral English. Yesy was also a member of the school choir. -

92-96 High School Years!
She studied at the Jardines de Ponce High School. In tenth and eleventh grade took English classes with Ms. Legarreta, who appear in the photo next to Yesy and peers over her group. It was with these English teacher in tenth grade that Yesy knew she had the art skills and leadership. She also developed skills in class to write short scenes in English, directing and performing. -
92-96 High School Years!

Decided to became in a doctor, she registered at the Pre-Medical Program at the University of Puerto Rico in Ponce. Every time English courses became more challenging and complicated for Yesy. After two years of failed efforts in the science program, with all the Math and Ciences courses books in English ... She lost the enthusiasm and love of medicine. Waking again inclinations towards the Arts. -

Escape to Orlando, Florida
Yesy could not find a job at the Department of Education as a Drama Teacher. Then she decided to find another opportunitties in a diferent country: USA. She went to her brother's house in Orlando, Florida hoping to get a better life in the United States and also to become a bilingual person or al least be fluent in the English. She was so afraid to the north american society specially to the english language that it could not allowed to herself integrate in an American workplace. -
Graduated
Yesy completed a Bachelor in Pferforming Arts Educaction. One of her dreams was get a Drama Master in USA. But these hopes were frustrated because of her limitations in English. A Professor encouraged Yesy to stay in Puerto Rico to develop and strengthen their English language. -
A new journey
Yesy could not find a job at the Department of Education as a Drama Teacher. Then she decided to find another opportunitties in a diferent country: USA. She went to her brother's house in Orlando, Florida hoping to get a better life in the United States and also to become a bilingual person or al least be fluent in the English Language. -
The letter that changed her life!
Yesy received a letter of Department of Educaction In Puerto Rico offering a job as a Theater teacher in his hometown Ponce. She moved back to Puerto Rico. -

Working as a Drama Teacher
Yexania Santiago Montes, Yesy, like many people know her since 2003 worked as a Drama Teacher at the Department of Education. In 2004-2006 she completed a Master in Teaching of Fine Arts -Theatre at the Turabo University. Then she studied a Certification in Special Education at University of Puerto Rico. Either those studies were in English so Yesy had a poor contact with the English language in the last years. -
21st Century Education
Llanos del Sur Elementary School, where Miss Santiago (Yesy) worked as Theater teacher, become a 21st Century School. These School started participate in the Bilingual Education Program. A group of teacher registered in the Bilingual Educational Certification Program of the Sagrado Corazón University. -

Yexania Santiago Montes and a few more teachers of Llanos del Sur Elementary School had officially registered and attendanced to the Bilingual Education Certification Program at the Sagrado Corazón University. She is very excited to has this unique opportunity offered the Department of Education in Puerto Rico. She and some of her partner teachers are very involucrated in this project.
