My Life as a German Immigrant

  • I was born!

This is the day I was born.
  • We leave for Ellis Island

Well, today I leave Germany with my Mother and Grandfather. It will be a very long ride to a place my Grandfather and Mother call Ellis Island.
  • We arrive at Ellis Island

That was a very long ride, I think it was about 2 weeks and 4 days. Well, now we are at Ellis Island. We passed an amazing statue, The Statue of Liberty. As soon as we got inside the Ellis Island building we got put into a line to wait. Then, we got to some people who asked us questions, how much money do you have? What skills do you have? Then they checked us for sicknesses, they told us if we were sick or had no skills we would be sent back to Germany. I just hope we can stay in America...
  • Transcontinental Railroad beginning construction

Today I heard something about a Transcontinental Railroad that was being built. It turns out, some people are going to try to build a railroad all the way across America! I say good luck to them, but I went and got hired, just hoping to get some more money.
  • Transcontinental Railroad FINISHED

Well, I worked on the Transcontinental for 4 years! It's finally finished! We layed over 2,000 miles of track to connect the west side of America to the East side. I just can't believe I was a part of it.
  • First GOOD vehicle was made (ModelT)

Today the first ever GOOD vehicle was made by a man named Henry Ford I think it is. I've been thinking about buying one.
