ATLANTIC COLONIES
In the mid-1800s ports in the Atlantic Colonies bustled with business activity. such as lumber, iron, and coal most of these resources were brought back by children. Children were meant to do labor such as help out on the farm or work to retrieve resources such as lumber, iron ETC.
In 1842 the Government banned children to work in coal mines ETC. With this decision, the Colonies and Territories disagreed which caused them to separate.. -

In 1850 British North America was made up of separate colonies and territories. The colonies were under the British Governments control and the territories were governed by The Hudson's Bay Company.
