    Age 3: My mom and cousins would read lots of Dr. Seuss books to me as a child such as the ABC book, Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and The Cat in the Hat. They told me that I really enjoyed the rhyming and the funny voices they would make while reading the stories.

    Age 3: These were a collection of books that I grew up having other people read to me and I loved. As I got older, I started to read them on my own.

    Age 7: This book quickly became a class favorite during first grade. We would all beg our teacher to read this to us at rug time. She knew that we all enjoyed it so much, she began reading the other books in the series.

    Age 8: During second grade, I saw this in my school library and chose to read it because the main character has the first name as my dad. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It was a favorite of mine for a period of time.

    Age 8: This was one of the books that we read together as a class in second grade. I remember it vividly and I remember that it was a great book. It made me laugh while reading it.

    Age 9: Around this age is when I started to read small chapter books. My mom bought the first book in this series for me, and I was hooked. I still continue to read them now for a bit of nostalgia.

    Age 9: This book was a book that we read together as a class in 4th grade. I was so excited to read it because my teacher mentioned that we would watch the movie when we were finished. The ending made me really sad and I did not enjoy that.

    Sophomore Year: This book was read in my sophomore English class. This was a class favorite but I particularly did not enjoy it. I would love to read it nowadays to see if I would like it now, but I haven't got around to it yet.

    Senior Year: 1984 was the book that I read the entirety of senior year English. During my senior year, COVID-19 was actively happening, so I was not able to finish it, but I do remember not liking it.

    Age 20: I started to read this book series because I was watching the television series at the time. I struggled to read/finish this 3 book series because I did not enjoy it. I did end up finishing them but in a 2 month time span and I would not read it again, I prefer the television series.

    Age 21: This book is number 4 and the last in my favorite book series. It just came out not that long ago, so I have only read it once, but I am on the verge of rereading it soon.
  • Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter

    Age 21: I picked up this book because of the synopsis on the back. It is about a small-town girl and her bad boy next-door neighbor falling in love. What also got me hooked was that each chapter title was a movie quote.
