Checkers & Chess

2004

The library in my primary school had board games you could play during recess/lunch. I'd learnt chess and asked mum to play with me at home. She declined every time, but offered to play checkers instead cause she found it easier. My little brother also used to make up rules in chess in order to win; they didn't like playing chess with me much.

Shrek 2

2004

Shrek 2 is an action platformer that takes place after the events of the first film. I remember loving the puzzles and being obessed with the collectables, and so stressed with the quick time events, however I didn't ever come close to completing the games achievements. Barbie as Rapunzel: A Creative Adventure! (and other Barbie games)

Action Girls Racing

2005

Dad got us a Playstation 2 for Christmas one year and picked a bunch of games for us. Out of my siblings most of us are afab so as kids any gifts we received were designed for girls as the target demographic. It's a truly terrible game and was so much fun. Bratz: Rock Angelz

Scooby-doo Cyber Chase

Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst

This was the first point and click puzzle game I ever played. To this day is still one of my favorite games.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I remember us racing to the Xbox360 when we got home from school to be the first to play that night. When we first encountered a frost dragon we spent at least 2 hours killing it by reloading the save file and coming up with battle tactics together. Minecraft

I was first exposed to the game by my younger siblings telling me about some fan-made urban legends about Herobrine. It made exploring in my in-game world more eerie as I believed the stories were true. I still adore the resource management and building/crafting aspect of the game. Infamous Second Son

2015

This was one of the first games we got on PS4. I adore the story; plus, the visual effects/design of the main characters' abilities are stunning. Every time my sister replays the game (which is annually) I can't help, but watch.

Overwatch

This is the first FPS I've actually enjoyed playing. I'd started playing during a difficult time and even when I was too low energy to play, or didn't have the time to, I'd get so much comfort from watching Youtube/Twitch streams of gameplay. Horizon Zero Dawn

Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is an action RPG well known for its anime art style and unique characters. It's inspired by Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, plus and a variety of myths and cultures. Darkwood
