British soldiers arrived in Boston and many colonist did not like it. Colonist and the soldiers were harrasing each other and the scared troopers opened fire and killed 5 colonists. The soldiers were not charged with anything. -

A committee was formed and they wrote the decleration of independance. America was tired of being a part of Britain. The committee wrote it and became independant. -
The Louisiana Purchase
Thomas Jefferson made the Louisiana purchase. It doubled the size of the Unites States and gave complete control of the Mississppi River to the United States. The entire territory was sold for $15,000,000. -
The Lewis and Clark Journey West
Thomas Jefferson hired two men, Lewis and Clark, to explore the newly bought land out west. Clark was an expert mapmaker, and Lewis was to lead the mission and record new plant and animal species. Sacagawea was a Native American girl who helped the Lewis and Clark journey be a success. -
The Trail of Tears
Many Southeast tribes were forced to move west. The Cherokee tribe appealed to the United States Supreme Court and the Cherokee won the case. After winning, President Jackson ignored the Supreme Courts decision and moved the Natives into Georgia anyway. (McDougal Littell, Page 403-405) -
The California Gold Rush
James Marshall discovered that there was gold in California. 250,000 men and women from around the world flooded into California for the gold rush. Miners, merchants, hotel owners, and chefs became rich. The California Gold Rush boosted Californias economy and changed the nations history.

The fugitive slave act was passed by the United States Congress. It was part of the compromise of 1850. The fugitive slave act of 1850 made stricter laws against runaway slaves and anyone who helps a slave run away. The law allows slaves to be returned to their owners. -
Uncle Tom's Cabin
Uncle Tom's Cabin was a book published during abolitionist movement. Uncle Tom's Cabin changed many people's points of view. The book told the gruesome stories of slavery. This book was mostly used in the North. -
Attack on Fort Sumter
Fort sumter was having supplies delivered. Confederates attacked when they were not ready and they surrendered. An uprising began. -
Death of Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was attending a play on good friday. He supported the idea of of enfranchising former slaves. Someone murdered him while he was watching the play because of that. -
Holocaust
Germany tried to take over the world. The nazis killed 11 million people, 6,000,000 jews, and 5,000,000 non jews. Hitlers quest to take over the world was over when the allied forces invaded. Hitler committed suicide. -

Thurgood Marshall argues against segregation in supreme court, because segregation is not fair. Segrgation later became illegal in 1954. -
Death of John F. Kennedy
Died in November 22, 1963. He was in Dalls, Texas and he was murdered. Somebody shot him and he was just 46. He was the 35th president. -
Death of Elvis
Elvis was the most popular rock artist of the time. He had a heart attack and died on august 16th 1977. He was only 42 years old. -
9/11
4 planes were hijacked and targeted for government buildings. Everyone in the planes including the terrorist died. 3,000 men and woman died from the terrorists actions. -

This is the day I was born. -
Death of Osama Bin Laden
Osama was the leader of Al-Qaeda and they purposely crashed planes into important government buildings. Navy seals found Osama years later hiding in a wine cellar in Pakistan. They shot him immediately.
