    Jacques Necker was hired to help Frances financial problems. His solutions to the problem was reduce spending and have everyone start paying taxes. His plan could have worked, but the king did not want to change so Jacques was fired. After he was fired the people in the 3rd estate started to get mad. This was the begging to start the revolution.

    Frances Independence day is the day that the French people took down the bastille in an attempt to start the revolution. King Luis XVI was not listening to his people, so this is the day they start making a ruckus. The 3rd estate stormed the Bastille so they could get ammunition and to send a message to the king. This event is significant because it forced the king to start looking outside his own walls.

    King Louis XVI were living big and dint seem to care about the people, so the people are really mad. 6,000 people march to versailles to bring the king and queen to Paris. They thought that if they could get the king to Paris, he can see how bad things really are. Most of the people storming the Versailles were women.

    After all the fighting the 3rd estate did, they finally start to see changes. Napoleon comes into power and starts making changes to the government. These changes are called the Napoleonic Code. Religious tolerance, lower class peasants owning land, making jobs based on talent, and better food prices are all in this code.These codes will last in France for a long time, and it will help Frances economy.

    Napoleon was known for his great success in wars. He started to get a big head and wanted to take over Russia. He starts out with 600,000 troops and ends with only 20,000. This is the start of the downfall for Napoleon. He loses most of his power after this war.
